Dordle: two Wordles at once
Dordle is double Wordle: every guess goes on two boards, and you have seven guesses to solve both words. Play the daily Dordle game free, the same two words for everyone, or start unlimited rounds whenever you want another.
How to play Dordle
Two boards sit side by side, each hiding its own five-letter word. Every word you type goes on both boards at once, and each board colors the letters for its own answer: green is the right letter in the right spot, yellow is in that word but somewhere else, and gray is not in that word.
Solve a board and it locks, so the rest of your guesses only go on the other one. You win by solving both words within seven guesses. Run out and the word you missed shows under its board.
Each key on the keyboard has two small marks, the left one for the left board and the right one for the right board. A key can be green on one side and gray on the other, which tells you at a glance which word a letter belongs to.
Dordle strategy: two words, seven guesses
Seven guesses for two words leaves five to spare, the same as every game in the family. It is still tighter than it looks: a single Wordle gives you six tries for one word, and here just one more guess has to cover a whole second word. The good news is that every guess you make is also a free look at the other board.
- Open with two words that share no letters, such as SLATE and CORNY. Together they test ten common letters on both boards and still leave five guesses to solve two words. If your first word already lights up three or four letters, skip the second opener and let both boards steer your next guess. Our best starting words list ranks openers against every answer.
- Pick a target. By your third guess, one board usually has more green than the other. Solve that one first, and make sure the word you guess for it also tests a letter or two the other board still needs.
- Aim to finish the first board by guess four or five. That leaves two or three guesses for the second word, which by then has four or five rows of clues of its own.
- Read across the boards. A yellow E on the left and a gray E on the right rules E out for one word and in for the other, without spending a guess.
The daily Dordle and Dordle unlimited
Today's Dordle is the same pair of words for everyone, and a new pair arrives at midnight where you are. Daily wins build your streak, and the round saves in this browser, so you can leave and come back to it. When you finish, share your result: it shows which guess solved each board and never a letter. You can play Dordle online on any phone or computer, with no app to install.
Want to keep going? Tap Unlimited for a new pair of words, as many times as you like. Unlimited Dordle rounds never touch your daily streak, so they are a good place to try a new opening.
