How to use the Wordle helper
- Type your first guess and press Add. Its tiles appear grey.
- Tap each tile until it matches: once for yellow, twice for green, three times back to grey.
- Add your next guesses the same way. The list updates as you go.
- Pick from Best next guesses if you want to narrow things down, or from Likely answers if you want to go for the win.
Prefer to work by letters instead of guesses? The 5 letter word finder takes known letters by position plus letters to include or leave out.
Solve in fewer guesses
- Open with common letters. E, A, R, O, T, L, I and S cover most answers. Our best Wordle starting words page ranks openers by testing them against every answer.
- Use guess two to test new letters. Unless you already have three or more greens, a second word with five fresh letters usually beats a guess that keeps your yellows in place.
- Watch for double letters. When few answers are left and none fits, the word often repeats a letter, as in SPEED or LLAMA.
- Avoid traps. Patterns like _IGHT or _ATCH have many answers. Spend a guess on a word that tests several of the possible first letters at once.

Frequently asked questions
- How does the Wordle solver work?
- Add each word you played and tap its tiles until they show the colours you got. The solver keeps only the five-letter words that would give exactly those colours, using the same rules for repeated letters as the game.
- What do likely answers and rarer words mean?
- Likely answers are everyday five-letter words, the kind daily puzzles usually pick. Rarer words are valid but uncommon, so they are less likely to be the answer, though they can still be useful guesses.
- How are the best next guesses chosen?
- Each remaining word is scored by how many of the still-open letters it tests and whether those letters sit in their most common spots. A high score means the guess splits the remaining answers well.
- Does this show today's Wordle answer?
- No. It does not know the answer. It narrows the options from your own guesses, so you still solve the puzzle yourself.
- What is a good first guess?
- Words with common, different letters work best. See the best Wordle starting words, tested against every answer in our list.
