Tridle: three Wordles at once
Tridle is triple Wordle: every guess goes on three boards, and you have eight guesses to solve all three words. This Tridle game is free, with a daily puzzle for everyone and unlimited boards when you want more.
How to play Tridle
There are three hidden five-letter words, one on each board. Type a word and it goes on all three boards at once. Each board colors the letters for its own word: green is the right letter in the right spot, yellow is in that word but somewhere else, and gray is not in that word at all.
When a guess matches a board's word, that board locks and fades, and your next guesses only go on the boards still open. Solve all three within eight guesses to win. If you run out, the words you missed show under their boards.
The keyboard has a small mark under each letter for each board, left to right. A green mark under E on the middle board means E is in the right spot there, even if it is gray on the other two. A key turns gray once the letter is out on every board you have not solved.
Tridle strategy: three boards, eight guesses
With three words and eight guesses you have five guesses to spare, which sounds like a lot until you see a board with four green letters and five possible endings. The trick is to spend your early guesses on letters, not answers.
- Open with two words that share no letters, such as SLATE and CORNY. Between them they test ten of the most common letters on all three boards. Our best starting words guide has more pairs, tested against every answer.
- Go for the board you can solve, not the one that looks interesting. A solved board is one less set of clues to keep in your head, and your next guess can focus on the other two.
- When two boards each need one letter, look for a word that tests both letters at once instead of guessing one board at a time.
- Watch the marks. A yellow mark on one board and gray on the others tells you exactly which word that letter belongs to.
The daily Tridle and unlimited boards
The daily boards are the same three words for everyone on the same date, and they change at midnight where you are. Your daily wins build a streak, and your progress is saved in this browser, so you can close the tab and finish later. When you finish, you can share your result: it shows which guess solved each board, never a letter, so nobody gets a spoiler.
